Rebuild Decision:

A decision has been made to preserve this Wisconsin treasure and allow Locomotive 1003 to operate on our nation's railroad systems for another 15 years. This extensive project will cost roughly $400,000 and includes an evaluation of the condition of the engine, replacement of boiler tubes and flues, running gear repairs as well as other restorative work.

DONATIONS: Donations have already occurred, most significantly by William Gardner, who believes this part of railroad history should continue to provide enjoyment to everyone. Your donation toward the SOO LINE 1003 RESTORATION fund will continue to support the above work, procurement of parts and materials, labor and final inspections.

Donate by check made payable to SOO LINE 1003 RESTORATION. Mail checks to the Wisconsin Automotive Museum, 147 N. Rural St., Hartford, WI 53027.

Donors of $100 or more will be publicly recognized at the Museum while the project is underway. (If recognition is not desired please make a note along with your donation.) A Certificate suitable for framing will be returned for all donations over $100.

The SOO LINE 1003 RESTORATION PROJECT IS NOT A 501.C.3 ORGANIZATION AND DONATIONS ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
